Methods Of Scratched Glasses Lens Repair

By Jessica Parker

As things get older they experience a wear and tear, even if the objects in question don t really do much. Scratches can paint a very deceiving picture, especially if they happen to appear on a glass surface. Not only can this look render new objects to look old but it s also appealing to the eye. But there is a solution, albeit a temporary one for Scratched Glasses Lens Repair.

It s ironic how something can be durable and fragile at the same time but there are ways of repairing whatever damage there is on the surface. However, these repairs are only limited to the extent at which the damage is because a tiny scratch or crack is far more easier to repair than one that spans halfway through the clear surface, and if that s the case, there might be a need for a professional.

Well, the first line of defence against scratches is the general household cleaner that can be used to eliminate minor abrasions. If they re good enough to make wood shine then it s safe to say whatever is in that window cleaner is strong enough abolish the blemishes on a window. If for some or other reason that should fail than there are other solutions to give a go.

Another ingenious but home orientated solution comes in the form of baking soda. A little bit more expensive but hey. This method can work on its own or happy with the first method. With equal parts water and equal parts baking soda, one can use the concoction to polish away scratches and if used in tandem with the first method, remove toothpaste residue in the process.

The problem with scratches is that it s hard to assess on whether any effort should be placed in getting rid of them because of an uncertainty of whether the method used will make them go away or not. A rule of thumb when it comes to such is that if you run a fingernail above them and cannot feel any scratches or grooves underneath it, it s safe to assume that they can be removed without replacing the entire surface made out of glass being attended to.

What is important to remember is that whatever method is used. The use of a microfiber cloth or a cotton ball is essential as it does a dual job of cleaning the surface that needs to be cleaned. But also ensures that no further scratches are incurred in the process of cleaning, causing people to work backwards and not forwards which seems counterintuitive to the objective that they would like to achieve.

Alternatively, one can buy a DIY glass cleaning kit. One that is designed specifically for the removal of scratches on glass and mirrors.

Removing scratches shouldn t be expensive or hard, all it takes is a little creativity and ingenuity and things can look as good as new.
