Details About Breast Augmentation Daytona Beach

Breast augmentation refers to a surgery in which there is increasing of the size of breasts. The procedure involves placement of implants under breast tissues or beneath the chest muscles. Women consider it for a number of reasons. Others opt for it to increase confidence while others use it for rebuilding breasts after some conditions. It is done by a plastic surgeon. Prior to the surgery, the surgeon will assist their patient with selection of right implant sizes. They can do that through placement of different sizes into bras to see their feel. The procedure mostly requires general anesthetic, meaning the patient will be asleep. In some cases however, local anesthesia is used, in which case the patient will be awake.

The incision that is used will depend on many factors. They include the level of enlargement and patients anatomy. It is also dependent on implant type and surgeon or patient preferences. There is then inserting and placement of implants, which is done through either sub muscular or sub mammary placement. The former involves placement under the pectoral muscles while the other one goes behind breast tissues.

The incisions are closed using layered sutures or stitches. For keeping them closed, there is used of skin adhesives or surgical tapes. In the initial stages, the lines with the incision will be visible but they fade away over time. The surgery leaves some swelling which should resolve in 2 weeks. It is after that that a patient will be able to assess whether their expectations were met.

As the anesthetic wears off, patients are supposed to be given painkillers for management of pain. Patients are advised to make arrangement for transport home because they are not able to effectively drive immediately after. Sutures are supposed to disappear in about 6 weeks. If sutures used do not dissolve, there will be follow-up appointment to have them removed.

There are possible risks that one should expect. To begin with, there are instances in which one is supposed to go for additional surgery after several years. There are also patients that will need to undergo surgery to have the implants removed.
