Maintaining clean and fresh atmosphere inside automobiles is very crucial. Passengers want to experience rides free from bad smells. Keeping car air conditioners clean and fresh can be overwhelming if you are unfamiliar with factors that influence awful odor. It is important for every vehicle owner to understand the main factors that lead to car ac smells and how to treat various conditions.

Many people experience bad smell in the interior of cars due to molds. Remember, automobiles release moisture which contributes to molds and mildew if you fail to clean conditioning units. Molds cause smells which are not only unpleasant but also harmful to humans. You can get rid of molds and bad smell by spraying cleaning solutions made of water and vinegar.

Gas leak is a common factor that triggers bad smell in vehicles. You will notice gas smell once you turn on your conditioner. The smell passes through the air-conditioning system into the interior making the environment uncomfortable. It is crucial to fix this problem as soon as possible. Start by checking the fuel pressure regulator located near the engine to ensure it is in good working condition. Consider consulting a mechanic to perform gas leak repairs.

Air conditioner filters are components many car owners ignore. These parts play significant roles within air conditioning units. They remove dirt, bacteria, and dust that accumulates inside the ac. Inspect filters once or twice a month and clean them to avoid accumulation of dirt and bacteria. Invest some money in new filters if you notice damaged or broken air filters.

Most air conditioning units are designed with an inbuilt cooling system. Like any other part of conditioning units, the cooling system can be damaged, broken or have leaks. Broken or leaking cooling systems trigger bad odor in the ac. When cooling systems leak, they emit liquid ethylene glycol an anti-freezing substance. This liquid does not only smell bad, it is harmful to human beings. It is your responsibility to ensure the leaking system is repaired quickly to prevent health disorders and odor.

Excess water condensation in the air conditioning unit can lead to bad odor. This condition is caused by the accumulation of water in the unit. Automobile owners are required to repair condensation systems. Make sure the condensation system works effectively with the right conditioning appliance and temperature. Excess water condensation triggers molds and mildew.

Impurities trapped inside vents cause odor that require effective solutions. A.Cs are usually clogged by common impurities like mold, dust, bacteria and insects. Maintain ac appliances in clean conditions to prevent clogs and enhance freshness in the vehicle.

Bacteria is a major factor that contributes car air conditioner smells. Uncontrolled bacteria like aspergillums and penicillin trigger odor in the unit. Bad air emitted from units filled with bacteria causes allergic reactions. It is recommended that you clean units using chemical detergents or sprays. Vinegar mixed with water is an effective cleaning and prevention solution for smelly automobile air conditioning units.
