Save Time With Natural Kids Hair Products

By Sharon Mitchell

It can be tough keeping tresses maintained when a child is active or it seems to have a mind of its own. Little girls tend to have it the hardest because they may have to sit in a chair at the salon instead of being a kid. More parents from Atlanta and surrounding areas are finding natural kids hair products to be the perfect solution for styling woes.

While there are many brands that will stick a label on something and suggest that it is natural or organic, there is a big difference when it comes to the look and feel. Authentic products not only smell good but give the strands moisture that is often lost when it is constantly exposed to extreme weather conditions. Smog, dry heat and hold can be hard and heavy oils can weigh it down.

The natural methods works for just about every texture, even those who have a combination of hair textures. Many have grown up to believe that as long as there is a lot of oil involved, it can moisturize the strands. This belief is common for coarse types, which many believe require heavy oils and heating tools to style.

Strands that are likely to split and break have lost the hydration needed to remain elastic. Most heavy oils do little to hydrate. When tresses have been permanently colored or received a chemical treatment, it is also prone to dryness. This also holds true for normal textures.

The best way to get strands on the road to hydration is to look for products that have a lot of coconut oil or a rich butter, like cocoa or shea. Sometimes the popular brands may have these listed as an extract but have alcohol near the top of ingredients. Reading labels is important because some products will only dry the strands further.

When strands are hydrated, it is also easier to style. Instead of relying on curling solutions with harsh ingredients that require a lot of maintenance, many of natural treatments can curl most textures with a simple application. No matter how much of the treatment is used during the first application, the mane will be healthy and soft.

Another benefit to using these authentic products is that it eliminates the need to visit the salon as often. Some people with coarse or hard to manage tresses may visit the salon as often as once a week for basic styling. However, with children this can become even more expensive. Many of the shampoos and conditioners are easy to use and one bottle may last for a month or two.

This saves parents the hassle of dealing with tangled hair or the expense of taking a child to a salon a few times a month. Choosing this route also spares them from being exposed to carcinogens and other harsh chemicals. Parents and kids find the scents hard to resist, as many are slightly sweet without a lingering aroma.
