4 Toys That Were Financially Successful, As Detailed By Robert Jain

By Jason McDonald

Whether you're shopping during the holidays or casually browsing the aisles of your local retailer, toys are among the hottest-selling products in the world. Action figures, dolls, and remote-controlled cars are just a few examples, but some of these products have sold better than others throughout the years. With this in mind, it may be worth discussing the toys that sold the best. Here are 4 of the best-selling names that Robert Jain can tell you about.

Silly Putty - Starting off this list is a toy that has proven popular from decade to decade. Did you know that Silly Putty was developed in 1943 by an engineer? He had no intention of selling it as a toy, as he meant for it to be used by other people in this field. Needless to say, Silly Putty went on to become one of the most popular playthings of all time. The fact that more than 300 million eggs have been sold is a testament to this.

Easy-Bake Oven - When it comes to toys that have stood the test of time, few are as iconic as the Easy-Bake Oven. The fact that it sold over 30 million units, according to names like Bob Jain is remarkable, but this is partially due to how said toy evolved. It was released in 1963, modeled after fully-functional ovens of the time. As the times changed and new ovens were developed, the Easy-Bake Oven's overall design followed suit.

Yo-Yo - Not only has the Yo-Yo been popular among children, but teenagers and young adults have gotten in on the fun, learning tricks along the way. Since this toy's commercial release in the 1920s, it has become a popular item among many groups. While there are many people that are content with simply letting the toy drop before pulling it back up, others have mastered intricate tricks. To this day there are many Yo-Yo devotees that enjoy this toy.

Barbie - Arguably the best-selling toy of all time is a name that everyone has heard. If you've ever been down a toy aisle with pinkish hues, chances are that you've seen multiple Barbie products as well. The doll debuted in 1959 at the American International Toy Fair and has since become a mainstay in popular culture. As a matter of fact, the brand spawned everything from video games to movies. When it comes to toys for girls, not to mention financially successful products, Barbie stands above the rest.
